Coffee Day: OMV offers VIVA coffee for free

September 29, 2009 - 9:00 am (CET)

  • 1 October declared as “Coffee Day”– OMV filling stations with VIVA invite customers to a free cup of coffee
  • OMV filling station partners receive barista training
  • For every cup of coffee sold, one cent donated to an education program in Nicaragua

For the eight time, the Austrian Coffee and Tea Association celebrates the aromatic brown beans and has officially proclaimed 1 October, “Coffee Day”. VIVA world of indulgence offers a wide selection of the finest quality Viennese coffee as well as the highest standards in ambiance and service.  On “Coffee Day” all 170 OMV filling stations with VIVA will invite customers to a free cup of coffee of their choice.

Every year Austrians consume eight kg of coffee per person, making Austria the largest coffee consumer in Europe. To celebrate this beloved hot drink, the eighth “Coffee Day” will be celebrated nationwide on 1 October 2009. On this festive occasion, all OMV filling stations with VIVA will treat customers to a free cup of coffee of their choice.

VIVA coffee specialities are prepared with 100 per cent freshly ground arabica coffee beans of the highest quality and are served in more than 10 different varieties ranging from Espresso, Cappuccino to Latte Macchiato. VIVA coffee owes its exquisite flavor to the special combination of quality beans and high-value WMF coffee machines.

Coffee lovers will also reap the benefits of the barista training open to all OMV filling station partners. This special training will provide staff with comprehensive information on the origin, history, variety and preparation of the VIVA coffee.

In order to live up to the high quality claims of the best Viennese coffee house tradition, the VIVA coffee specialities are presented on a silver tray with a glass of water and sweets. All coffee types are also served ”to go” – for the full coffee delight on the go.

“VIVA mi escuela“: One cent for every cup of coffee goes towards an education program in Nicaragua
Enjoying a recent cup of VIVA coffee also means joining a good cause. OMV recently launched a CSR project “VIVA mi escuela”; for every cup of coffee sold in Austria and Germany one cent will be donated to an education program in Nicaragua, where part of the VIVA coffee comes from. This CSR project will be carried out in collaboration with the renowned Austrian Development Organization ICEP.
