Accessibility Statement

We aim to make our websites accessible to everyone, in line with the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz), as amended to implement the European Accessibility Directive (Directive 2019/882). We’re continuously working to improve both usability and accessibility, so that everyone can access the information they need without difficulty.

Accessibility at a glance

We want everyone visiting our site to have a smooth user experience, whether they use assistive technologies (like a screen reader), keyboard navigation, or simply want to adjust the settings to their individual needs. We’ve already made some improvements to accessibility, but we know we can do more and are working on it.

Compliance status

We follow the standards set out in the European Accessibility Directive (Directive 2019/882) and are working to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, as well as the European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03). We’re supported in this by the Austrian Institute of Technology, which is helping us evaluate and improve accessibility across our site.

At present, omv.com is only partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA due to the issues listed below. We are actively working on solutions to all of them.

Non-accessible content

The following content currently does not meet accessibility standards:

Data protection: The form for data subject rights is only partially accessible to screen readers. We are working to improve compatibility as soon as possible.
Contact: In the contact form for filling stations, some input fields are not yet linked to their descriptions. This will be corrected shortly.
OMV share price: We are improving the machine readability of table headings and interactive elements to optimize compatibility with screen readers.
OMV job board: We are adding missing text descriptions for the main search window and the “open positions” button.
Share buttons: We're working on making it easier to share blogs and news posts using keyboard navigation.

These issues are being addressed as a priority and will be resolved as quickly as possible.

Accessibility features already in place

Text-to-speech: The “Read aloud” button allows you to listen to blog articles and press releases.
Job board: You can now switch to a list-based view if the location-based job search doesn’t meet your needs.

This statement was updated on July 22, 2025, based on an accessibility analysis carried out by the Center for Technology Experience at the Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH.
