MoFlowGT Geothermal Field Lab
Developing a geothermal project requires confidence in reservoir performance, injectivity, material selection and operational reliability. The OMV MoFlowGT Geothermal Field Lab brings testing directly to the field, allowing critical questions to be assessed under representative geothermal conditions before key implementation decisions are made. By combining laboratory methods with on-site deployment, project teams can generate data relevant for reservoir management, scaling control, material qualification and operational planning throughout the project lifecycle.
Multi-Sensor Core Logging - CoreDNA
Successful carbon storage projects require a detailed understanding of reservoir and seal properties. The TECH Center & Lab combines geomechanical, petrophysical and geochemical measurements into an integrated dataset using advanced core characterization technologies.
Continuous measurements of rock strength, permeability, mineral composition and acoustic properties support reservoir evaluation, geomechanical modelling and seal integrity assessment, providing critical input for subsurface decision-making.
Complex Solids, Corrosion & Materials Analytics
Operational challenges often arise from the interaction of solids, fluids and materials. Whether investigating deposits, scale, biofilms, corrosion products or material degradation, the TECH Center & Lab combines advanced analytical techniques with materials and corrosion expertise to understand failure mechanisms and performance limitations.
The resulting insights support root cause analysis, material qualification, corrosion management and the development of targeted mitigation measures across conventional and emerging energy systems.
Technology Qualification & Field Validation
The TECH Center & Lab's location in Gänserndorf combines laboratory infrastructure with access to real onshore energy operations. This enables technologies, chemicals and materials to be evaluated under representative conditions before wider deployment. By connecting laboratory work with operational environments, we support the progression of solutions from testing and validation towards practical application in oil and gas, geothermal and emerging energy projects.
