Since September 1, 2026, Emma Delaney has been Chair of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer of OMV Aktiengesellschaft, headquartered in Vienna, Austria. An experienced international energy executive, Delaney brings extensive leadership expertise across both the upstream and downstream sectors. She is recognized for her strategic perspective, broad commercial acumen and collaborative leadership style.
Prior to joining the OMV Group, Delaney was Executive Vice President, Customers and Products, and a member of the Executive Committee at bp. In this role, she led a global portfolio encompassing fuels, convenience retail, biofuels, aviation fuels, advanced lubricants and electric vehicle charging. The division served millions of customers worldwide through its 50,000 employees. Delaney was instrumental in transforming bp’s Customers and Products business, focusing on operational excellence, portfolio optimization and value creation.
During her 30-year career at bp, she held senior leadership roles across the company’s upstream and downstream businesses and led complex transformation programs in rapidly evolving markets and regions. Her breadth of international experience spans Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
Emma Delaney holds a B.A. in Economics and Business from Trinity College Dublin and a master’s degree in management from ESCP Europe. A native English speaker, she is also fluent in French and German.
