OMV is starting a Great Education Investment in Samsun Kozluk, Building “Kozluk OMV Anatolian Teacher High School”

  • The ground breaking ceremony of Kozluk OMV Anatolian Teacher High school, built by OMV, was held with the participation of a comprehensive protocol.
  • Kozluk OMV Anatolian Teacher High School will be the first boarding teacher high school of the region.
  • Kozluk OMV Anatolian Teacher High School will have 16 classrooms with a capacity of 480 students, a dormitory with a capacity of 360 students, an indoor sport hall and housing units.

The ground breaking ceremony of Kozluk OMV Anatolian Teacher High School which is located in Kozluk, district of Terme,  Samsun , was held with the participation of Youth and Sports Minister Suat Kılıç, Samsun Governor Hüseyin Aksoy and the CEO and Board Member of OMV Petrol Ofisi A.Ş and OMV Gaz ve Enerji Holding Gülsüm Azeri.

CEO and Board Member Gülsüm Azeri noted that OMV has performed many different corporate social responsibility projects especially in education and sports in Samsun so far, but the most important one of these is “Kozluk OMV Anatolian Teacher High School” which is a very important value for Turkey, Samsun and the region, at the same time.

Gülsüm Azeri also mentioned the importance of Turkey for OMV and emphasized that the Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant which started its commercial operation in Samsun  meets around 3 percent of Turkey’s energy need.  Azeri added “As OMV, we are very honoured and happy to lay the foundation of this school, where the teachers of the future will grow up and become beneficial individuals for the country”. ”.

OMV Samsun Elektrik ve Üretim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. General Manager Korkut Öztürkmen said in his speech during the ceremony “As OMV, we are aware of the need to invest in social and cultural areas while contributing to the country’s economic developments. In this context, our investments enable us to look at the future which we will shape together with much more confidence and a greater hope”..

OMV’s 890 MW combined cycle power plant in Samsun, meets around 3% of Turkey’s energy need. As one of Turkey’s most efficient power plants, it is generating yearly approximately 6 billion kW/h electricity and provides a significant contribution to the power supply of the region and the country.
