OMV announces new Corporate Communications management
Michaela Huber takes on the top management position, Daniela Auer becomes deputy, and Andreas Rinofner assumes new managerial responsibilities within the OMV Group.
On May 1, Michaela Huber (36) takes over the management of Corporate Communications within OMV Aktiengesellschaft. She succeeds Andreas Rinofner (44), who has been responsible for this position since the departure of Bettina Gneisz-Al-Ani in June 2010. Rinofner is taking on a new management position at OMV. Daniela Auer (45) will act as deputy to Huber in her new management role.
According to Huber, the strengthening of the strategic market presence at a conceptual and communicative level is the key challenge. There will be a particular focus on the subsidiary companies Petrom (Romania) and Petrol Ofisi (Turkey): "We still face many challenges in Turkey. The task will be to successfully position the company in line with the overall group strategy".
Among other tasks, Daniela Auer will deal with sustainable internal and external communications measures, and will develop new concepts in this area.
The Corporate Communications department includes Media Relations, Internal Communications, Event Management, Sponsoring, Online and Corporate Advertising & Branding and Public Affairs.
Daniela Auer has many years of international communications experience within the OMV Group. Previously she has been responsible for the Marketing Communications department of Borealis and the Communications department of OMV’s Refining & Marketing business division. Since January 1, 2011 she has been head of Internal & Public Relations within Corporate Communications.
Andreas Rinofner began his PR career at the Red Cross in Styria. He ran the press office at ÖBB for several years, was responsible for all communications activities at Rail Cargo Austria and has also worked at several agencies. He joined OMV in 2008 and took on responsibility for Corporate Communications at group level in June 2010.
