OMV AND KOGEB WORKING TOGETHER FOR A POWERFUL FUTURE
- OMV and KOGEB (Kozluk Development Union) working together to provide a remarkable support for community development in Kozluk.
- Opening ceremony of the main facility of KOGEB took place on December 10, 2012 Kozluk Mayor Şenol Kul and OMV Samsun Elektrik Managing Director Korkut Öztürkmen.
Focusing on social dialog and development on economical and socio-cultural fields among the community, public offices and local businesses, Kozluk Development Union (KOGEB) will be a common platform with for a stronger future. The platform will mainly aim better efficiency and development in the utilization of economical, geographical, cultural and human resources of Kozluk.
OMV Samsun Elektrik Managing Director Korkut Öztürkmen said: "OMV is a good neighbour in the regions where the company operates and in order to create a powerful future with the local community. We started KOGEB initiative in cooperation with Kozluk community and Kozluk Municipality." Öztürkmen said that KOGEB will determine prior needs of the region and work to realize them together.
Meetings will be organized with attendance of local administration, OMV and local public to reach a consensus regarding the most efficient utilization of regional resources in the scope of the platform.
Open to all ages, a committee of 14 members as 3 representatives of OMV, 3 representatives of local administration and 3 delegates of local community were appointed to plan and conduct KOGEB’s activities. The committee is in charge of the applying, evaluating and realizing of the projects which were defined during the community meetings.
In this scope, two KOGEB Communication and Child Study Centers were already built in Kozluk District Center and Akçay District to contribute physical and mental development of children, for the future of Kozluk. Internet connection, library, educational tools and other various structures are provided to the access of the community, especially children at the centers.
