- Fuel vouchers worth EUR 100,000 for "Team Austria"
OMV is supporting the mobility of workers in the current disaster relief effort in Austria. Thousands of volunteers are taking part in the efforts to help those caught up in the serious flood situation. To support these operations and to ensure that workers, equipment and supplies reach the disaster areas, OMV is providing "Team Austria", the collaboration by the Austrian Red Cross and Hit Radio Ö3, with fuel vouchers worth EUR 100,000.
"I have been greatly impressed by the willingness of the Austrians to help. OMV also wishes to contribute to this work and we will therefore be making EUR 100,000 available to "Team Austria" in the form of fuel vouchers which can be used at OMV filling stations. Helping them to travel to places where they are most needed is our way of supporting the many volunteer helpers," says OMV CEO, Gerhard Roiss. Gerry Foitik, Federal Commander of the Austrian Red Cross is delighted with this initiative. "Many people have lost everything as a result of the flooding," he says. "Thanks to strong partners like OMV, we can help them."
OMV filling station operators in Vienna and Lower Austria also expressed their solidarity with the victims by making a donation of around EUR 3,000.
