OMV sees green: Shrek to debut at OMV filling stations

  • On July 1, 2010 the new animated movie “Shrek Forever After” featuring the further adventures of the giant green ogre will premiere in Austria
  • In cooperation with DreamWorks, OMV will launch a large-scale Shrek lottery campaign at its filling stations starting from May 31, 2010
  • A Shrek fairy-tale journey to USA for four people will be awarded to the lottery winner as the main prize
  • In addition, the lottery campaign will be rounded off by an online campaign

The fourth and final animated movie about the adventures of this popular giant green ogre, among the young, and young-at-heart, is set to be released in Austria in July 2010. “Shrek Forever After”, the title of the newly released Shrek movie, will  become the motto at OMV filling stations in Austria, where customers have the opportunity to win great prizes as part of a large-scale lottery campaign between May 31 and August 15, 2010. Those who want to increase their chances to win the lottery can also join a series of online contests.

The young and young-at-heart are getting fired up about Shrek’s last great adventure. The green ogre is and will remain the king of hearts of all animated movie fans. Harald Joichl, Head of OMVs Filling Station Business in Austria and Germany, said: “OMV is the filling station for people and cars. We are delighted to be offering our customers an attractive lottery game featuring one of the most beloved characters of animated movies.“

The large-scale Shrek lottery campaign will be launched countrywide starting from May 31, 2010. Customers will be given a scratch card, for each purchased item exceeding EUR 20 in one of OMV filling stations, or for any VIVA product starting from EUR 5, as well as for each premium car wash service or special promotional offering. The scratch cards will offer the chance to win a giveaway straight away such as one of four Shrek doll pens or an exclusive Shrek MP3 player. In addition, these scratch cards will allow customers to collect points to be allocated to a loyalty card. For 8 collected points on a loyalty card, customers will be given one of four Shrek drinking glasses and have also the opportunity to win the main lottery prize - one-week fairy-tale journey to Orlando (Florida) for four people.

“OMV provides the comprehensive Shrek fan package in celebration of the movie premiere of Shrek IV. This is exclusively available at all OMV filling stations and we are very proud of it,” said Joichl.

On the OMV web site www.omv.at, customers are also offered online scratch cards, funny Shrek e-cards and the opportunity to order a loyalty card to collect points. Furthermore, they can take part in a photo contest and win exclusive cinema tickets to share with friends. Further attractive web prizes include Shrek MP3 players, Shrek DVDs and funny plush toys.
