OMV launches free Station Finder app

With the Station Finder OMV starts an international native app for smartphones. The free application for iPhones and Android smartphones gives users quick and easy information on the closest OMV filling stations - and can even display it in Augmented Reality making stations easier to find and for better orientation.
Finding a filling station is now even easier: the OMV Station Finder is now available as a download from Google Play for Android smartphones and the iTunes Store for iPhones and iPads. The free application shows the nearest OMV filling station and the distance from the current location via GPS or with a manual address entry, and calculates the fastest route. An extra feature allows users to view OMV filling stations in Augmented Reality for a better orientation. This feature uses the smartphone’s integrated camera to show the surroundings on the screen and is complemented by digital information in real time.
Detailed view on opening hours and additional services
The nearest filling stations can be viewed either as a list or on a map and users can specify the maximum number of hits. Selecting the detailed view allows access to further information on opening hours, contact details, payment options, facilities such as car wash or natural gas, as well as additional filling station services in each country such as VIVA, the Post parcel service or banking services from Erste Bank. What’s more, users can view every OMV filling station along a specified route. It’s also possible to plan a route directly to one of the contacts in the smartphone’s address book – it goes without saying that the personal data is then only saved on the smartphone itself. In addition, the OMV Station Finder allows users to save their favorites and apply search filters, e.g. showing filling stations which are open 24 hours or which offer additional services such as VIVA.
Cross-country in English or in the local language available
The OMV Station Finder covers Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria and Slovenia and is available in English and the local language. In some countries such as Austria, Germany and Romania, users can also see the latest fuel prices at the individual filling stations.
