June 7, 2011 - 12:00 pm (CET)

  • Opening ceremony for the new service station on the Brenner motorway with OMV filling station and Rosenberger Restaurant
  • Europe’s highest service station will considerably improve the local infrastructure for motorists and residents
  • OMV filling station and VIVA world of indulgence are open 24/7

On June 7 OMV, the leading energy company in Central and Southeastern Europe, and Rosenberger will open one of Austria’s most up-to-date service stations on the Brennerpass. Europe’s highest service station, which is located at around 1,370 metres on a total area of around 12,000 m2, will include an OMV filling station, a VIVA world of indulgence and a Rosenberger Restaurant. Motorists travelling to Italy as well as residents will be able to fill their tanks with first-class OMV fuels and recuperate from their drive by taking advantage of VIVA’s proven service range.

The new OMV filling station provides a diverse selection of culinary delights and a wide range of services. It will considerably improve the local infrastructure for residents and motorists in the catchment area, and also provides employment for around 12 people.

Harald Joichl, Head of OMV’s Filling Station Business in Austria and Germany at the opening: "We are delighted to be able to open a high-quality service station together with our partners – for holidaymakers, families, business customers and regional guests. OMV filling stations are service centres for people and vehicles. As well as offering premium fuels to our customers, our VIVA world of indulgence provides high-quality coffee and freshly baked organic bakery. Motorists only need to make a brief stop to fortify themselves with freshly prepared sandwiches to suit every taste."

OMV – Filling station with an innovative range of fuels
The new OMV filling station covers a total area of around 2,500 m2 and has three two-sided fuel pumps serving a range of products for cars. The pumps provide latest products such as the new environmentally friendly OMV MaxxMotion Premium Diesel. There is one two-sided multi-product pump for trucks as well as a two-sided dispenser for the AdBlue anti-pollutant. The adjacent car park has space for around 112 cars and 4 buses.

VIVA – Value-added services
The new VIVA world of indulgence on the Brennerpass maintains the highest standards when it comes to ambience, quality, service and cleanliness. The VIVA shop range includes around 1,500 products including top brands, the best bakery produced locally using guaranteed organic ingredients, and good-quality wine from Austria – also direct from the refrigerator.

The VIVA gastronomy area offers a range of products to satisfy hunger between meals: 10 coffee variations of the highest quality; organic dairy products with the AMA organic label; the finest liver loaf specialities by Gourmetfein and a range of sandwiches – all to be enjoyed on the spot or “to go” at any time of the day or night. The Erste Bank und Sparkassen banking terminal also provides easy access to banking services, and packages can be sent night and day using the Post package service.

"It’s our goal to give our customers a sense of well being when they deal with us," said Joichl. "And we are constantly expanding our service range because we want to make their lives easier. We have since been ranked as ’Austria’s most customer-friendly service provider‘ in a service ranking based on a model from St. Gallen University. For us this is a vindication of our strategy."
