The success story of organic snacks from VIVA and Sarah Wiener began in 2009 with the launch of the “Wiener Burger”, and was continued with ‘Sarah Wiener ‘s organic roast beef roll’ introduced this spring. Just in time for the apple season, the first sweet organic snack has now arrived for those with a sweeter tooth. The apple strudel perfectly complements the rich coffee range that is available at every VIVA world of indulgence.
VIVA and Wiener belong together like organic food and indulgence. The ‘Wiener Burger‘, a tasty organic liver loaf in a crisp organic roll, has become a firm favourite as a snack between meals. In addition, ‘Sarah Wiener’s organic roast beef roll‘ offers everything a hungry motorist could want: an exclusive taste experience at OMV filling stations. What’s more it proves that fresh and tasty organic food is even available on long car journeys. From 27th of September there will be a new culinary delight for those with a sweeter tooth: a hand-made organic apple strudel. It will turn every coffee break at VIVA into a ‘Wiener Jause‘, a Viennese snack in coffee house tradition.
Sarah Wiener’s secret love
“The smell of freshly baked apple strudel with cinnamon and sugar is one of my earliest childhood memories,” admits the star chef with a beaming smile. “I love apples in any form, but home-made apple strudel was always something really special for me. It will just melt in the mouth if everything has been prepared correctly in advance. Every part of the organic ‘ Wiener Bio-Apfelstrudel‘ is hand-made – and that’s clear from the taste.”
Traditional recipe using quality organic ingredients
With more than 75% apple content, the apple strudel was always the healthy alternative to heavier cakes. The organic apple strudel from VIVA only includes traditional ingredients: fruity apple filling with raisons, walnuts and cinnamon covered with a carefully prepared dough made out of wheat flour, breadcrumbs, eggs and butter and coated in a fine layer of powdered sugar. All ingredients are of the best organic quality and are labelled with the ‘Austria Bio Garantie” – a trademark for organic products.
Every part of the ‘Wiener Bio-Apfelstrudel‘ is prepared by hand. The dough is manually rolled out and filled with the manually prepared ingredients. The dough is then carefully rolled in a sheet, baked, and cut into portions by hand. Only by doing it this way will you create a special taste experience.
