It’s tea time: Treat yourself to a winter tea break at VIVA!

January 12, 2011

  • The VIVA world of indulgence offers its customers a tea break with finest quality beverages
  • Eight new different types of tea will be available at OMV filling stations with VIVA from January 31, 2011
  • VIVA tea will also be available “to go” in innovative drinking cups with a patented lid system to enable you to enjoy your tea while on the road
  • Tea has many benefits for both body and soul

From January 31, 2011 there will be yet another reason to stop at an OMV filling station with VIVA: the new VIVA tea range that will include eight new delicious varieties of the finest quality tea – an indulgence that’s not just for tea lovers. All of the high-quality leaf-tea varieties will also be available “to go” in a drinking cup that comes with a patented lid system and is exclusively available from VIVA.

Austrians drink around two cups of tea on average per day. The VIVA world of indulgence supports this trend by offering tea lovers a new, high-quality range of teas. “The new VIVA teas are a great addition to VIVA world of indulgence,” believes Harald Joichl, Head of OMV’s Filling Station Business in Austria and Germany. “This is because a tea break at VIVA during a tiring drive is ideal for our most discerning customers who are always on the road and who wish to enjoy a peaceful moment at VIVA world of indulgence. A tea break offers customers a chance to relax and recharge their batteries.”

Eight ways to enjoy VIVA tea
If you stop for a tea break at VIVA, you’ll have a choice of eight different types of intensely flavoured black, herbal or fruit teas. The selection includes English Breakfast, Earl Grey, green tea, camomile tea, peppermint tea, raspberry fruit tea, a herbal tea called Feel Relaxed (a harmonious mix of rooibos and lemon balm) and chai. Chai is traditionally made from black tea with different spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. It promotes inner purity and also helps you to relax.

Speeding up by slowing down
As well as having a unique aroma, black and green teas are particularly beneficial for the body and soul. The main active substances of tea are caffeine and tannins, and depending on the time of infusion they can have two opposing effects on the body: tired bodies are revived and stressed people are able to relax. But minerals, polyphenols and vitamins also have positive effects and can help prevent diseases that are common in today’s society. Natural teas can also alleviate or balance out the additional stresses that are caused by today’s lifestyles.

Enjoy a steaming cup of tea even when on the road
So that you can also enjoy a delicious cup of hot tea when you’re on the go, the eight new VIVA tea varieties are also available “to go” in double-sided drinking cups with a patented lid system. This enables the cups to be handled easily without any spillage. Previously, coffee-to-go always had the edge over tea when it came to ease of use as the tea bag had to be disposed of separately after a few minutes of infusion time. The new lid system means that the tea bag can be left in the water to suit each individual taste, and is then pulled out of the hot drink by means of a cardboard flap that is integrated with the lid. The tea bag is then stored in a special compartment within the lid. Once the tea has been drunk, the cup and tea bag can easily be disposed of in one go. The to-go drinking cups with patented lid system are exclusively available at all VIVA worlds of indulgence across Austria.

Best quality for unrivalled enjoyment
The VIVA world of indulgence seeks to maintain high standards at all times and offers fresh, high-quality products to indulge those with the most discerning tastes. “We only use high-grade leaf tea for our eight new tea varieties to ensure outstanding quality. Every separate serving of tea is sealed in a transparent, tear-proof nylon bag to retain the aroma,” said Joichl.
But VIVA does not leave coffee and hot-chocolate drinkers out in the cold. VIVA uses 100% Arabica coffee beans for its coffee specialities, while high-quality WMF coffee machines make excellent espressos, cappuccinos and latte macchiatos, among other coffee varieties.
