60 years and still going strong: OMV’s moving history

The history of our OMV began exactly 60 years ago. On July 3, 1956, the company then known as “Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung Aktiengesellschaft” was officially entered into the commercial register. The start of an exciting journey full of moving moments.
Over the past six decades OMV has grown into one of Austria’s largest industrial companies with an international focus – developing from a state-owned company into a global player in which more than 24,000 people from 60 nations in 30 countries now work together.
I joined OMV as a trainee almost four decades ago. I am proud to have personally experienced many of these 60 years of OMV history and I look forward to helping to shape the coming years Johann Pleininger, Executive Board Member of OMV Aktiengesellschaft for the Upstream business
