Admission free for everyone on Leopoldi Day 2022

Once again the Leopoldi Day was a very special holiday in the Leopold Museum. As a long-standing partner, OMV was facilitating free entry to the museum on November 15, 2022 under the motto #OpenforArt.

Leopoldi Day commemorates Saint Leopold, patron saint of Vienna and Lower Austria and the national patron of Austria. In Vienna and Lower Austria, this is a school-free-day. The OMV and the Leopold Museum therefore invited everyone to a mulitifaceted program for young and old with free admission. 

More than 4,400 visitors took advantage of the diverse range on site in 2022. That's more than four times as many guests as on an average visiting day before the COVID-19 pandemic. We are particularly pleased about the enormous success and the positive response from all age groups.

Free art for the whole family to enjoy

Guided tours through the three current exhibitions, an open children's studio for children aged 6 to 12 and special workshops for children and youth groups with different focuses invited families, children, young people and after-school care groups to spend this day in the Leopold Museum.

Artists Maximilian Prag and Cristian Anutoiu created a space with organic neon sculptures and 3D scans for the event. In the immersive “Neonland”, visitors could immerse themselves in a digital world that they could actively shape and change with hand movements. As a further highlight, there were 10 MEGA Leopoldi packages with great gifts from the Leopold Museum and OMV to be won.
