OMV & Austrian National Library – Beethoven exhibition extended

The long waiting finally comes to an end. After a break of several weeks, the Austrian National Library will reopen to all culture-loving visitors today Friday, May 29, 2020.

The current exhibition “Beethoven. World of the Man and Spark of the Gods“, in celebration of Beethoven’s 250th Birthday, was extended until Sunday, January 10, 2021.

Beethoven's encounters with contemporaries, teachers, musicians and patrons, with women and friends, as well as with his family, stand for his “human world”. The exhibition demonstrates this through the featuring of numerous original letters held by the Austrian National Library.

Original manuscripts of his musical compositions, that are still a big part of the classical repertoire, represent the "spark of the gods", such as Beethoven's only violin concerto Op. 61, the "Spring Sonata" Op. 24 or sheets of music for the world-famous 9th symphony.

OMV supports the exhibition in the State Hall as the main sponsor. For more information on this exhibition and other offers from the Austrian National Library, please click here.

OMV has been a partner of the Austrian National Library for several years and has supported this Austrian cultural institution in the past with various exhibitions, as a book sponsor, and with developing the literature museum.
