Diversity, equity and inclusion at OMV

These targeted initiatives promote gender equality, inter-generational learning, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion, alongside support for parents and caregivers, and people with disabilities.

We are committed to advancing gender equality at all levels of our organization. As a technically focused industry, achieving gender balance presents an ongoing challenge. One of our key aims is to increase the number of women in management positions. By 2025, we aim for women to hold 25% of these roles, rising to 30% by 2030.

We are working hard to make progress through a range of targeted policies, including our SHEnergy and HER Energy leadership development program, as well as tailored mentoring, succession planning and training initiatives. 

We’re also training our leaders to recognize and mitigate unconscious bias and establishing preferential hiring practices for female candidates. Concurrently, we're putting in place policies that foster a supportive work-life balance, ensuring that all employees have the resources and flexibility to excel professionally while fulfilling personal commitments.

We value and include every generation to the progress and success of our organization. Knowledge within our organization spans all generations, from the fresh perspectives of younger colleagues to the rich expertise of long-serving team members. This fusion of tradition and innovation is key to our continued success and growth.

Every colleague is appreciated and encouraged to contribute with their diverse backgrounds, skills, approaches and ways of working, so that the co-creation is enhanced. To ensure valuable know-how is preserved, we hold knowledge exchange sessions and offer dedicated mentoring programs. We've also launched an awareness campaign to highlight the significance of generational knowledge sharing. 

In addition, we're actively shaping our strategy to attract and retain the next generation of talent, ensuring OMV continues to be seen as a dynamic and forward-thinking place to work.

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone is encouraged to bring their whole selves to work. We recognize the historical and present marginalization and discrimination faced by members of the LGBTQIA+ community and are actively working to dismantle boundaries and create an equitable and accepting workplace.

Part of this commitment involves using inclusive language throughout our company, ensuring that inclusivity is woven into the day-to-day fabric of our activities. We are also cultivating and growing local and global communities to bring people together, and advocate for the interests of LGBTQIA+ people in the workplace. 

In addition, initiatives like our Ally Week panel discussion and Pride programs serve as a platform for dialogue, understanding, and celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community.

We understand the challenges that come with juggling work and caregiving duties. Whether caring for young children or other family members, we want to ensure that our employees can manage their professional and personal roles without feeling overstretched.

To support this, we offer flexible work arrangements across numerous roles and departments. Additionally, our New Parent Program provides vital information on parental leave, financial planning, and tips for a smooth transition back to work. This program is designed for all employees, aiming to foster a more balanced share of childcare duties.

Our commitment to supporting working families has been formally recognized with the 'berufundfamilie' certification, affirming us as a family-friendly employer.

Establishing a strong culture of inclusion starts with acknowledging that having a disability is both a common and a varied experience. We have set ourselves the goal of breaking down visible and invisible barriers – because everyone has the right to participate in society without barriers.
