The Vienna State Opera is one of the world’s most important opera houses. With its first-rate casts, combination of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic, and an extensive repertoire, the opera house on Vienna’s Ring Road is one of a kind and enjoys a superb reputation.
OMV is a general sponsor of the renowned house on Vienna’s Ring Road. Additionally, OMV has supported the development of the live stream WIENER STAATSOPER live at home. Opera lovers around the globe can experience selected opera and ballet productions live from the comfort of their homes.

OMV is the main sponsor of the Grafenegg Festival
The internationally renowned Grafenegg Festival is one of the most important orchestral festivals in Europe. More than 150,000 visitors from all over the world are delighted each year by the top-class classical concerts under the artistic direction of Rudolf Buchbinder.
The open-air stage “Wolkenturm”, the auditorium concert hall and the historic riding school, which is used for prelude concerts and introductory talks, provide a unique combination of “sound & atmosphere” at the Grafenegg cultural location.
The composer in residence and the two resident orchestras, the Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich and the European Union Youth Orchestra, set the thematic priorities and focus areas. What is special is that the respective composer in residence always composes a special commissioned work for the Grafenegg Festival. The premiere of the piece traditionally takes place during the festival opening together with the Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich.
With the world's largest Bruegel collection and its extensive collection of important art works, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna is one of the most important art museums worldwide. With a total of eight locations and around four million objects, it is also the largest universal museum in Austria.
In 2021, OMV is supporting the special exhibition “Higher Powers - Of People, Gods and Forces of Nature”. Under the motto “Seeing across cultures”, the believe in higher powers in a wide variety of cultures and epochs is displayed. Around 100 objects take up this current topic and give the visitors space for their own emotions and thoughts.
Some of the objects have never been on public display and come from the diverse collections of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Weltmuseum Wien and the Theatermuseum. The impressive exhibition can be visited from May 18, 2021 to August 15, 2021 in the Kunsthistorisches Museum.

OMV is a partner of the Wiener Konzerthaus
Since the Wiener Konzerthaus was founded in 1913, the combination of tradition and innovation from the main pillars of the Konzerthaus's artistic identity. During the course of a season, more than 800 performances take place. The repertoire ranges from classical music to jazz and various other music styles.
OMV has been a partner of the Wiener Konzerthaus for many years and is supporting the “Vorhören” cycle in the 2020/21 season.
The concert cycle “Vorhören” is particularly recommended for children and young people accompanied by their parents. In the first part of the concert, the children go on a discovery tour through the Vienna Konzerthaus. Characteristics and fascinating information are explained creatively in an age-appropriate workshop. In the second part of the concert, parents and children enjoy the musical implementation of the previously explained works together in the great concert hall.
OMV is a partner of the Leopold Museum
With its collection of Viennese Modernism, the Wiener Werkstätte and Expressionism, the Leopold Museum becomes one of the most popular museums in Vienna. In addition to the perception and the Egon Schiele collection of the world and the masterpieces of the founder of the Secession, Gustav Klimt, the museum houses works by Richard Gerstl, Alfred Kubin, Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser and many other advanced Austrian artists.
In 2021, OMV supports the retrospective "Josef Pillhofer - in a dialogue with modernist artists" as an exclusive partner. In the wide-ranging retrospective, the Leopold Museum pays tribute to the extraordinary Austrian sculptor and draftsman on the occasion of his 100th birthday. The impressive show can be visited from June 18, 2021 to October 10, 2021 in the Leopold Museum.
OMV has been a proud partner of the Leopold Museum for many years and in the past has already supported the museum at various exhibitions. Through the cooperation with the Leopold Museum, OMV enables international guests, business partners and employees to visit one of the most important collections of modern Austrian art from the 19th century and the modern age to be visited exclusively.
OMV is a partner of the Austrian National Library
The Austrian National Library emerged from the former court library, which was commissioned by Emperor Karl VI in the first half of the 18th century. Today, the Austrian National Library is not only the largest library of Austria. Additionally the library also offers permanent presentations and thematically changing exhibitions in the famous state hall and the various individual museums.
In 2021, OMV will be supporting the exhibition “The Emperor's Most Beautiful Animals. Pictures from the Habsburg collections”. In this exhibition, the importance of depictions of exotic animals, as an essential part of the imperial art collection, is examined for the first time. Under Crown Prince Ferdinand, more than 10,000 detailed and lifelike images of mammals and other animal species were created. The extraordinary exhibition can be visited in the State Hall of the Austrian National Library from November 26, 2021 until February 27, 2022.
OMV has been a proud partner of the Austrian National Library for many years and has supported this Austrian cultural institution in various exhibitions, as a book sponsor and in setting up the literature museum. For example in 2020 as sponsor of the wonderful exhibition “Beethoven. Menschenwelt und Götterfunken”, which was displayed on the occasion of the 250th birthday of the great composer and pianist.
Sport connects and inspires people! Therefore, we renewed our cooperation as a premium partner with the SK Rapid Wien at the beginning of 2019. In doing so, OMV puts a special focus on the support of young and talented upcoming players from SK Rapid Wien.
In addition, this creates extraordinary synergies that benefit our OMV employees. With games of the Rapids first team, as well as the junior teams against various teams from our association of oil and gas municipality of lower Austria, the sport gets support in the region.
Furthermore, the Special Needs Team is an essential part of support and encouragement of mentally disabled people. The "Special Needs Team" is an inherent part of the Rapid Wien family, which is connected with further social and charitable activities of OMV.
