As of September 1, 2021, Alfred Stern is CEO of OMV Aktiengesellschaft. He took over management of the company 5 months after his appointment as Executive Board member for the newly established Chemicals & Materials division. Before that he had been CEO of Borealis since July 2018, having sat on the Executive Board for the preceding 6 years as well, with responsibility for the areas of Polyolefins and Innovation & Technology. His Borealis career began in 2008 as Senior Vice President Innovation & Technology. Prior to joining Borealis, Alfred Stern was at DuPont de Nemours and held various management positions in R&D, Sales & Marketing and Quality & Business Management in Switzerland, Germany, and the USA. With a passion for outdoor sports, Alfred Stern has a PhD in Material Science and a Masters in Polymer Engineering and Science, both from Montanuniversität in Leoben (Austria). He has won multiple awards, including the H. F. Mark Medaille, the DuPont Award for a new product patent, and an honorary award from the Austrian Ministry of Science and Research. Alfred Stern is married and has two children.

Reinhard Florey graduated in mechanical engineering and economics from Graz University of Technology while also completing his music studies at the University of Fine Arts. He started his career in corporate consulting and strategy consulting. From 2002 to 2012 he worked in different positions worldwide for Thyssen Krupp Steel. His most recent post was as CFO and deputy CEO of Outukumpu. Since July 1, 2016 Reinhard Florey has been the CFO of OMV Aktiengesellschaft.

Daniela Vlad

Daniela Vlad has been a member of the Executive Board of OMV Aktiengesellschaft since 1 February 2023. In this function, she took over the Chemicals & Materials division to further strengthen, expand and diversify the chemicals business. Her contract runs for three years, with an extension option for further two years. After her studies - the Romanian-born holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Timisoara in Romania and a cum laude Master's degree in Business Administration from Twente University in the Netherlands - she held management positions at Shell and Phillips, and most recently the management of key global businesses at AkzoNobel - such as Powder Coatings and Industrial Coatings. Thanks to her many years of international experience in the chemical business and in leading strategic transformations, Daniela Vlad combines chemical and financial know-how as well as experience in the field of sustainable technical solutions. She is married and has two children.

Martijn van Koten was born in the Netherlands, where he studied Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. He began his professional career at Shell in 1994 taking on several management and technical positions in the refining and downstream business in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. Starting 2004, Martijn van Koten resumed Manufacturing Site General Manager positions at Shell in Sweden and Singapore, before becoming Vice President Manufacturing East & Middle East in Singapore in 2009 and Vice President Supply & Distribution Americas in the United States in 2013. In 2013, Martijn van Koten joined Borealis as Executive Board Member Operations, HSE & PTS in Austria. From 2018 to June 2021, he was Borealis Executive Board Member Base Chemicals & Operations in Austria. Martijn van Koten is a member of the OMV Board of Directors since July 1, 2021 and responsible for the division Refining. As of November 1, he takes over the Marketing & Trading division in addition. From January 1, 2023, Martijn van Koten will head the newly created Fuels & Feedstock division, which will consolidate the Refining and Marketing & Trading business areas. He is married and has two daughters.

Berislav Gaso

On March 1, 2023, Berislav Gaso assumed his role as a Member of the Executive Board of OMV Aktiengesellschaft, where he is responsible for the Energy Division. In his new position, he will actively contribute to the transformation within the framework of the new OMV Strategy 2030. He has been appointed for a 3-year term, with an option to extend for 2 additional years. He holds a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and a PHD in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Berislav Gaso has held various management positions in the MOL Group after working as a junior partner at McKinsey & Company. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President in charge of MOL Group’s Exploration & Production Division.
