Joint success through open dialogue
The surrounding area of each of our locations plays an important role in our success. We can only be successfully active with the confidence and support of our neighbours. Therefore, at all locations we make every effort to become recognized as a reliable partner and attractive employer, which takes its social responsibilities seriously.
On the principle of "talk with one another instead of about one another", we have implemented the "Green Telephone" at some of our locations, such as, for instance, the Schwechat Refinery. Every call is logged; the respective shift supervisor follows up each enquiry with the objective of demonstrating, through open dialogue with the people in the local vicinity of the works site, that we take the questions and concerns of our neighbours seriously and deal with them constructively.
On this basis confidence is strengthened and a climate in which we can develop together with our neighbours is facilitated. Dialogue represents to us, in any case, a prerequisite and means of creating and maintaining partnerships. Apart from that it is often hints from interested citizens that have made it possible for us to become even better in many aspects.
Good neighbours have consideration for one another and an open ear for all concerns as well as being reliable partners in the event of problems – a commitment that also applies to the "neighbours of the Schwechat Refinery", something to which in practice the "Green Telephone" provides an effective instrument.
