The Move & Help year began with the participation of
around 400 OMV employees in the Vienna City Marathon on May 7,
2006. In the scope of Run&Fun, OMV donated EUR 100 for each
employee team and for every individual runner from the company
EUR 10 to Move & Help. Families, friends and fans had the
chance of further increasing the result on a treadmill in the
OMV marquee. For every 100 meters run on the OMV Move &
Help treadmill, OMV donated an additional EUR 1 to Move &
Help. With only three euro all runners and fans present at
Heldenplatz had the chance of winning something very special:
the car seat that OMV Pilot Manfred Stohl was using when he won
his first World Championship point. Partners of OMV Move &
Help benefited from the entire amount.
Not everybody has the opportunity of becoming what they want
to become - a lack of education is often the reason for this.
Hence, the SOS-Children's Village and OMV have established the
Move & Help Educational Fund. This fund will assure the
education of at least 60 children and youths. Additionally,
each year for the next three years EUR 100,000 will flow into
the OMV Move & Help Educational Fund for SOS-Children's
Village. The award of the sponsorship occurs with the support
of the Children's Village mothers. Experienced pedagogues of
the SOS-Children's Village are responsible
for the selection.
In the period leading up to Christmas all of the OMV filling stations in Europe will offer advent calendars containing chocolate or chocolate Santa Claus; these have been provided by OMV. The total revenue will go to the national education project of the respective country.
